This Policy explains what data Reel Route Movie processes, why it is needed, who may receive it, and what controls are available to users.

1. Who is responsible for data processing

The operator of the Reel Route Movie application and the party responsible for the data processing described in this Policy is:

2. Scope

This Policy applies to Reel Route Movie on phones, tablets, and Android TV devices. The application is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. It is not directed to children and does not intentionally collect a user's age.

Reel Route Movie helps users discover movies and series, save titles as favorites, and learn which third-party services may offer them. Registration and a user account are not required.

3. Summary

  • Favorites, local search history, selected language, onboarding state, and catalog cache are stored on the device.
  • The application temporarily sends requests to its first-party Catalog API to provide catalog results.
  • AppMetrica is activated when the application starts and may receive technical analytics, crash, performance, diagnostic, and device or application-instance identifier data.
  • Reel Route Movie does not sell user data.

This local data is not synchronized with a user account and Reel Route Movie does not create its own cloud backup of it. Individual values may be temporarily transmitted off the device only in the situations described below.

5. Catalog API

To search and load catalog information, the application connects over HTTPS to the Catalog API operated by the Reel Route Movie operator.

Depending on the user's action, the API may receive:

  • the search term;
  • the selected language;
  • the identifier of a movie, series, genre, collection, filter, or catalog page;
  • the IP address and ordinary technical request information needed to establish the connection, protect the service, and deliver the response.

This data is used to produce the requested result. The Catalog API, its reverse proxy, and infrastructure controlled by the operator should be configured not to retain search terms or complete request URLs in access, proxy, or CDN logs. Search terms and request identifiers are processed in memory no longer than necessary to provide the real-time response.

6. AppMetrica

Reel Route Movie uses AppMetrica, an analytics service provided by Yandex. AppMetrica is activated when the application starts. The current version of the application does not provide a separate consent prompt, opt-out, or in-app setting for disabling analytics.

AppMetrica may receive:

  • installation, session start, and session end events;
  • installation source and information needed for advertising campaign attribution;
  • the advertising identifier and other available device or application-instance identifiers;
  • app version, operating system version and type, device model and technical characteristics, screen type, and network information;
  • crash reports, stack traces, diagnostic information, performance measurements, and application state information.

In the current release, Reel Route Movie does not send AppMetrica custom events. The application does not transmit screen opens, search queries, favorite actions, names, descriptions, URLs, provider names, or movie and series identifiers through AppMetrica.

Reel Route Movie intentionally does not send the following to AppMetrica:

  • search terms;
  • movie or series titles, descriptions, or identifiers;
  • favorites or local search history content;
  • names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, or other direct personal identifiers;
  • user profiles or a first-party User ID;
  • precise or approximate location;
  • payment information, purchases, or revenue information;
  • push tokens, messages, contacts, files, photos, videos, or health information.

The application does not enable AppMetrica modules for location, revenue, billing, push notifications, or user profiles.

7. Purposes of processing

  • providing search, content details, filters, and other catalog functionality;
  • retaining local settings selected by the user;
  • measuring installations and sessions, diagnosing crashes, and analyzing technical stability;
  • measuring application performance and installation sources;
  • protecting network infrastructure and complying with applicable legal requirements.

8. Recipients of data

  • The Reel Route Movie operator and Catalog API: to provide catalog functionality.
  • Yandex / AppMetrica: for analytics, crash reporting, diagnostics, performance, and attribution.
  • Hosting and image delivery providers: when posters and illustrations are loaded, these providers technically receive the IP address and standard network request parameters.
  • Public authorities or other recipients required by law: where disclosure is legally required or necessary to protect legal rights.

The operator does not sell user data. Opening a third-party video service's website or installed application is initiated by the user and is governed by that service's own policy.

9. International processing

Reel Route Movie may be available in different countries. AppMetrica states that analytics data may be transferred to and stored on Yandex servers in the European Union and the Russian Federation. Other infrastructure providers may process technical data in the countries where their servers are located.

10. Retention

  • Local data is retained until the user removes it, clears Reel Route Movie app data, or uninstalls the application.
  • Catalog API requests are processed temporarily to provide a real-time response and are not retained by the operator in logs when the logging configuration described above is followed.
  • Analytics data is retained by AppMetrica under Yandex's terms and retention practices. The Reel Route Movie operator does not create or retain separate AppMetrica exports.
  • Some information may be retained for longer where required for legal compliance, security, abuse prevention, or protection of legal rights.

11. User choices and controls

Users may:

  • delete local search history and favorite items through the application, where those controls are available;
  • delete all local data through Android system settings or by uninstalling Reel Route Movie;
  • reset or restrict the advertising identifier in the device's system settings, where supported;
  • submit a request for data that the operator can identify and control through the Data Deletion Request page.

The application does not provide user accounts, so account deletion is not required. If data cannot be linked to a particular user or device, individual deletion may be technically impossible.

12. Security

Reel Route Movie connects to the Catalog API over HTTPS. AppMetrica states that it encrypts transmitted data. The operator applies reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no transmission or storage method can guarantee absolute security.

13. Third-party links and services

Reel Route Movie indicates where a title may be available and may offer a link to a third-party website or an installed provider application. Reel Route Movie does not control those services, their content, availability, payments, or data processing after the user leaves Reel Route Movie. Users should review the applicable service's privacy policy and terms before using it.

14. Changes to this Policy

This Policy may be updated when Reel Route Movie features, SDKs, data practices, or legal requirements change. A new version will be published with an updated effective date.
